Oh boy, this is really going to get funny. It appears that the politicians feel they have the public support necessary to start milking another industry.
Jet travel will be the next victim of the tax the crap out of everything in the name of reducing CO2 emissions circus.
The argument is that the travel industry has not been subject to CO2 quotas. So now that has got to change.
One little problem though, adding a tax on plane tickets won't reduce flights and consequently CO2. It will just be another income source for the government.
This is all in tune with what Al (the kiddies pal) Gore has suggested. He advocates the abolishment of all income taxes and wants to impliment a CO2 tax instead. Each citizen should pay taxes according to their carbon footprint. What an idiot. Please give me a break, you don't care about the facts in this issue, you are just interested in another form of taxation.
This brings me to the ultimate dilemma. How can I support a cause so absurd as to NOT abolish income taxes?
Eventhough the noise of taxation change have come from the voice of the opposition, Climate Connie agrees. She even wants to go further, yes Denmark and the EU should double their effort to tax plane fares! This is all very logical in a perverted kind og way, considering we are the highest taxed citizenry in the known world. We already pay the highest income taxes, the highest VAT (25%), the highest energy taxes and the highest car taxes. Let's find a new tax and then double it up. Go team, go!!
Quite the stance for a young minister from the Conservative party!
